Every Sunday between 2 May and 3 October 2026, the Association Tourisme Ferroviaire de la Brie Champenoise à l'Omois offers seats on board its 1950s railcar for a train ride through the heart of the Brie Champenoise region between MONTMIRAIL (51) and ARTONGES (02).
The railway trip consists of a return journey (2 x 8.72 km) between Montmirail station (train departure point) and Artonges station at a speed of 20 km/hour.
The tour lasts a total of 1 hour 30 minutes and includes commentary.
It includes a 15-minute stop at the Villemoyenne station halfway back from ARTONGES to allow visitors to tour a gatekeeper's house built in 1884 by the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer de l'Est railway company.
In addition to the ride, you can visit the railway museum created in the former Montmirail station, which dates back to 1884. The museum has over 200 railway artefacts displayed in the two waiting rooms of the passenger building and in the water tower that once supplied the steam engines. You can visit the museum before or after the railway ride.
For groups and associations booking the railcar on Saturdays, you can use the goods shed for a cold buffet (catering available) or picnic. Use of the shed is free of charge.
